Howdy, and welcome to your latest JCS newsbrief.
The Sheriffs are pleased to be getting regular invites back to Boudreau’s restaurant in Charlottesville now. We must be doing something right. If you haven’t come out yet, swing on out to Boudreau’s on the first and/or third friday of every month and watch your local law enforcement perform (flawlessly…not:)).

If you want us in other areas around here, you can always call and harass the Dew Drop Inn in Scottsville, who told us they loved our CD and couldn’t wait for us to play there, and then never returned repeated attempts to contact them. Call ’em up and tell ’em the Sheriffs are the best thing you’ve ever seen. Lie shamelessly. Maybe they’ll call us back. 🙂 We always wanted to play at a place called the Dew Drop Inn…as if Ben’s Whole Hog Barbecue wasn’t a cool enough name.

So, have you checked out your local Virginia paper? No? Then go to http://www.centralvirginian.com/community.html and look for the big writeup on the Sheriffs! Many thanks to Pat Wilson (one of my high school teachers) for writing the (excellent) article, and also to my Uncle Dave (another one of my high school teachers, incidentally) for putting us in contact with Pat.

Look for the Sheriffs to be headed back into the studio soon! A bit tired of Appalachian Overdrive, we’re ready to cut our next set of tracks. Look for a more “live” sound that is a bit more representative of what you hear when you see the Sheriffs play, and more emphasis on the harmonies and cooler vocal stuff that we’re forcing ourselves to learn. No intended release date planned yet, and we haven’t decided on a title either, but if you’ve got ideas, email us and let us know. Thanks!

See you at show soon! Christian
